You pulled the number of nodes from Chainz? But for the likes of DGB I know that Chainz has a limit of 150 concurrent connections, and even then it’s not actively seeking out others as it’s got it’s 8 outgoing…. Sooo…. the article is grossly misrepresenting data because there’s been no crawling whatsoever of the network? At the very least look at the DigiByte Node Crawler on the Play Store which can crawl a bunch of blockchains.
